I have a question…

I have a question for Mr. Imran Khan and all his supporters, where is your dharna for burning, dying, bleeding Karachi? Where are you right now?  You are always very active when there is an “American Drone Attack” on Pakistan which according to your supporters is the biggest threat to Pakistan. How about that your own countrymen killing their fellow countrymen? Or do you think that it is not a threat to your country and its people. So it’s okay if Pakistanis being killed by other Pakistanis, on the basis of language, ethnicity etc. But it is very brutal of America if it kills our countrymen who are often militants.

I also have a question for Mr. Zaid Hamid as he usually accuse Hindu, Zionists, American agents for destruction of Pakistan and says that “outside forces” are involved in chaos of Pakistan. Now can he answer me which Hindu, Zionist, Americans are destroying Karachi? Can he disclose some of the information about those Hindu, zion, American target killers who are killing people for being baloch, mohajir, or pashtoon?

Also I have a question for all the Talibans their supporters/apologists, hamid gul, jamat-e-islami, lashkar-e-taiba, sipah-e-sahaba, Al-Qaida, haqqani network, tehreek-e-taliban Pakistan, 313 brigade and other countless “jihadi” organizations that you hate America, you hate India for Kashmir, you hate Israel for Palestine and you have declared jihad against all of them. Now look inside your own country or brother muslim country where your own MUSLIM brothers are murdering each other on the basis of language, ethnicity etc. now where is your so called jihad? Recently Al-Qaida chief Ayman Al Zawahiri has said that all muslims should “avenge” against America, for the murder of “Imam of Mujahedeen” Osama bin laden. Now what does he has to say about those innocent lives being taken every day by his “muslim” brothers. The same al-Qaida took the avenge from Pakistan army by killing 80 young Pakistan army cadets on the third day of osama bin lden’s death. What did those young souls do to Osama? And after that they attacked on PNS base Mehran Karachi because Pakistan navy arrested some al-Qaida related people (refer to late saleem shahzad’s article on PNS mehran base after which he got kidnapped and then murdered). Where is your jihad right now? Who will rescue your muslim brothers in Karachi from other muslims.

Now I have a question for those Pakistanis who believe that “no muslim can kill other muslim”. That is what I hear from some of my friends and other people especially when someone carries out a suicide attack on a mosque or any other place. Now if a muslim can’t carry out a suicide attack than how does he cut someone’s neck, torture someone’s body and throw it away in a bag somewhere just on the basis of language, creed, ethnicity? Also 5857 people can gather to sing national anthem but can’t do a protest against mass murder of innocent people?

In the end I will just say, stop dreaming Pakistan, it’s time to wake up. Stop praying, it’s time to move remember prayers can’t be answered without effort. Allah will never listen to you until you try. The Egyptian revolution took place this year, in a matter of a few days, you know how? Through social networking websites, primarily facebook. If you can’t do anything at least you can protest, somehow. That’s the least you can do. Islamabad has taken an initiative for Karachi and has done a peaceful demonstration on August 19, 2011 over Karachi violence. I appeal to Karachi and other cities of Pakistan to at least speak against brutality, remember that hadees that If you see anything evil stop it with your hand if you can’t stop it with your hand stop it you’re your tongue if you can’t stop it with your tongue than at least curse it in your heart.

Also I appeal karachiites to donate blood to the hospitals and involve in volunteer efforts as injured people and dead bodies are still being received by hospitals in a greater numbers. So please go out and help them. I guess we will all have to answer Allah for this brutality, Allah will question all of us that where were we when our own people were getting killed. Also some people discriminate on the basis of religion and don’t help, their fellow Christians and Hindus when they are in trouble and needs to be taken to the hospital, remember Allah says “a murder of one human being is equal to the murder of whole humanity”. So in this way all human lives are precious, don’t discriminate.

You say——Allah says “a murder of one human being is equal to the murder of whole humanity” ——— does He, really? If He does then why is it that we the believers, all sorts and kinds, have historically killed more human beings in the name of religions and beliefs? Why?

How about those who have killed in the name of ethnicity? Religion or ethnicity itself is not a problem. It’s the people who are.. I am going to quote directly from Quran here:
“Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.” (5:32)
So how much do “muslims” follow this verse, i think it’s pretty clear. And i also think it’s unfair to judge the religion by it’s followers because all the followers have a different interpretation of their religion. Also the world sees Islam/Muslims through the eyes and actions of Taliban/Al Qaeda etc. and they do suicide attacks although suicide is strictly forbidden in Islam, what’s your say on that?

George Bernard Shaw said “Islam is the best religion with possibly the worst followers”.

You said it! —- “all the followers have a different interpretation of their religion”. This is it, and it holds not only for us but all religions. All religions are what we interpret them to be and we conveniently quote a book as it suits us or the circumstances. Is it not true that there are Quranic injunctions about killing the “non-believers”?
As far as actions of the sickos like Talibans/Al Qaeda are concerned I’ve no doubts in my mind that they do exactly as they are taught Quran or its “interpertation” by those who wish manipulation of both the Book as well as its readers. And, frankly I don’t blame the world seeing us and Islam through the actions of these misguided murderers and our general stand / reaction on such acts by them which generally is SILENCE. We choose silence over resistence because of our lack of conviction about such acts being utterly wrong, because of our confusion about right or wrong here. Because same book asks the believers to fight and kill those who don’t accept the “Truth” as we are told it to be. I’m not much impressed by Shaw’s compliment about Islam being best with worst followers, it’s merely his polite way of saying it is no good. For how can some thing being the best can attract worst people as followers. Excuse me for daring that religions do take and we allow them the audacity to play much greater or at least a role that is not in its purview.

“Is it not true that there are Quranic injunctions about killing the “non-believers”?” Well i am not a scholar to argue neither i know everything in Quran but i know one thing for sure that a lot of things have a background and a deeper meaning that we don’t get to see. Take that verse in 5:51 for example:

“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”

People think that it means that we can’t be friends with jews or christians, although in real this verse represents the incident when jews/christians betrayed muslims and there is a clarification of this verse too in later verses such as in 60:8-9 it says:

“Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion – [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.”

So you can clearly see how things are being misinterpreted. I agree with you that we choose to stay quiet instead of resisting, that’s our dilemma. It’s not just because we are confused, how about the scholars who have literally studied quran, hadees, sunnah in detail why do they stay quiet? I think it’s very coward of us to stay quiet and not care at all, and then we complain that west doesn’t treat us right.

Scholars who have studied Quran and all the rest of Islamic literature should have the guts to explain to us without fear that the message there is not of destruction and mayhem but peace and mutual co-existence and cooperation to improve our living conditions. I hate to disagree with you that the “West doesn’t treat us right” —-don’t they? I’m sure that you can not deny the fact that when we seek settlements in some other country, due to intolerance or persecution or out right rejection in our own country/ries, it’s invariably one of the Western Countries of Europe or North America. It is there where we do find a possiblity rather than in any of our Islamic States. Even for education and learning we go there as our own or those belonging to so called “Muslim Ummah” are useless or do not welcome us. I think we are cowards not to explain this reality to our masses.

You are absolutely right, but you can’t deny the fact that westerners don’t trust muslims (for some very obvious reasons) but still a lot of times American born and brought up muslims are being treated as second class citizens for having muslim names, or for having middle eastern looks. Many people even got killed in separate incidents after 9/11 by some Americans, just because they belonged to a muslim back ground. I think 2/3 years ago greeks threw eggs on muslims when they were getting out of the mosque on eid. So that’s the discrimination i was talking about. I know that no matter how bad and uncertain things are right now, west still treats us much better than any other muslim country in the world. I myself live in US and i get a lot of respect out here even though i wear a hijab. But i also get a lot of curious/racist stares.

No, no one can deny, at least not me, that Westerners “don’t trust muslims” (like you said for “obvious reasons”). Let’s re-state it some of the Westeners “don’t trust muslims” (again for the same “obvious reasons” and many more, I might add) . But most of us don’t trust them either without any real reasons. Our distrust is unfortunately based on our believe that only we are right and we simply don’t wish them to live their lives as they like it.

Since you live there in the U.S. you must be knowing better than most that they got themselves a society closest to perfection or at least what’s humanly possible. Yes. there are some, but only some, crazy people there like anywhere else. You complaint about eggs thrown on muslims in Greek while emerging from a mosque. Bad. Have you heared about our most favourite mission back home? Blowing up their churches along with them inside (and they are our own folks very Pakistani). Hell, we don’t even spare Shias or Ahmadis and their mosques.

Let me ask a simple question, hoping that you give staright answer. Do you trust everyone just for the reason that s/he appears an asian a middle eastern or has a muslim name? Do you? I don’t, just like I don’t trust a westerner unless I got to know that person a little.

Sir i know how bad we treat our minorities, I KNOW. I am not denying it, i never will. I was just stating a fact about west, since we were discussing it. And i don’t know about us not trusting westerners, i have never seen it to be honest. Yes i have heard about the fact that Muslims are trying to Islamise Europe/America but i have never seen it happen. Those who try to do that should go back to their home country rather than trying to change another country. If they are unhappy with European lifestyle, they should be sent back home. Simple.

About your last question, i don’t trust anyone in my life regardless of their race, unless of course if i know them really well. And yeah i specially avoid Indians, Pakistanis, Arabs etc. coz i have seen enough of them already in US that i don’t want to relate to them, i don’t like them, and my reasons of not trusting them are not related to terrorism. Thank goodness that i haven’t met any extremist Muslim yet, i have lived in different places and i have encountered may be a few nut heads, but most of the people i have known are not extremist.

“And i don’t know about us not trusting westerners, i have never seen it to be honest. ” —– Oh, I thought I got you all wrong. Didn’t you quote this, “O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.” —- my understanding, we are commanded not to trust, if we were to take the literal meaning of this verse here. Am I right or wrong?

You thank “goodness” for your luck that you haven’t met any “extremist Muslim”, I guess I haven’t either, at least not directly, however many in the west have. Let me give you an example, sometimes I went to different mosques in the US as well as in the UK and believe me all the Friday sermons entailed was “O’ Allah come and save us from the “ill-intentioned” enemies that these non believers (read Westerners) and destroy them (of course!). You get my point.

You yourself say, “And yeah i specially avoid Indians, Pakistanis, Arabs etc. coz i have seen enough of them already in US that i don’t want to relate to them, i don’t like them, and my reasons of not trusting them are not related to terrorism.” —– Now tell me, how can anyone, including us (you and me) can reasonably expect anyone else to trust us?

God this discussion is going in a very wrong direction. The verse that you mentioned also has an explanation in later verses, and i already have posted it in my reply above, and i believe that both these verses refer to a specific incident where jews and christians betrayed muslims (need to double check that, but i am pretty sure). This is the problem, if we just start taking anything out of quran and take its literal meaning it’s not going to be right. It would probably be like the half truth. I think a lot of quranic verses have a back ground, either they refer to a specific incident or something like that that’s why before going in to any conclusion, you should see the background first.
“And i don’t know about us not trusting westerners, i have never seen it to be honest. ” i was talking from a real life perspective, not a quranic perspective, but what i see and have seen in real life. I forgot about the friday sermons, most molvis are nut heads anyway so never mind.
I avoid indians and Pakistanis/Indians for personal reasons and which have nothing to do with religion, terrorism etc. You said: “Now tell me, how can anyone, including us (you and me) can reasonably expect anyone else to trust us?” Sir the whole west trusting us or not trusting us issue is related to terrorism/religion. Westerners don’t trust us because of our religion. That’s why i mentioned that “my reasons of not trusting them are not related to terrorism”. The same people that i hate are usually very nice to westerners etc. So it’s my personal reason.

“Westerners don’t trust us because of our religion.” —– Strange that you blame them for this. Don’t we rush to identify with every criminal (read inclined to terrorism) and assume her/him being victimised due to his religion if he happens to be our co-religionist? Don’t we, come one, admit it. Remember that Doctor woman’s case or that Khurram guy (son of some airmarshal and and and.
